Notice!

I'm giving up my blog. Jo's taken an interest in blogging and I'm going to let her take it up. Besides, I'm a little bored anyway. I mean, I'm just Beth. Jo's a lot more interesting. But don't worry! You'll still here of me-and maybe even from me-on Jo's blog. Here's the link!

Christmas

Hello! This is Beth! It's Chrismas, and I feel well again! Jo and Laurie made a snowman for me! Then, from Mr. Brook and the Laurnce's, Father! I ran to him and huged him. Oh, what a great Christmas indeed.
Dinner was great, with a big turkey that hannah fixed up. Then he told us about how much we had changed since he last saw us. I supposed he's right. We have changed. After that, I played piano and sang.

Jo~~~~~Mother~~~~~Love!

Mother returned! She won't leave Beth's side now. Mr. Brook will look after Father, and everything will be fine! Laurie told Aunt March and Amy about Beth's recovery. Mother and I talked about Mr. Brook-John-and Meg. Mr. Brook likes Meg and wants to marry her! I don't know if Meg likes him back, though. You see, love is so complicated!
Meg got a love letter from "Mr. Brook" but I think it was from Laurie. It was like his writing. But Meg replied to Mr. Brook! He replied and said that he never sent a love letter. :-(

This is still Jo!

I'm constantly afraid that Beth is dead and that no one told me. When I went to check on her at two in the morning while Hannah was asleep, I thouoght she was dead, since she didn't look sick anymore. It turns out that she was getting better, not dying! We were so happy, and Meg showed me the little white rose that she had meant to give to Beth if she had "gone away from us." but now she'll put it in a vase and let it be the first thing she sees when she wakes.
And then, to top all that, Mother came home!

Beth's sick

Hi! This is Jo. Beth is sick with Scarlet Fever, so she can't really type now. So I'll keep you
updated on whats going on in life!

Beth is quite ill. She sleeps for most of the day now, and she just says things that don't make sense. She doesn't look like my Beth. The doctor told us to send for Mother. I sent the telegram and then Laurie gave me a message saying that Father is getting better. I told him about how Beth is doing, then I broke down crying. He held me and then he told me that yesterday he sent for Mother and that Mr. Brook said that she'd come. She'll be here tonight! Thank you so much, Laurie!

Scarlet Fever, oh no!

Jo caught a cold since her hair is short now, so I had to go to the Hummel family alone. I've been going like Mother asked me to. Amy was supposed to come with me, but she never came down. I decided to go alone. (What a mistake to go at all!)
When I came home, I felt ill. Jo found me sitting on the medicine chest. I asked her if she ever had scarlet fever then told her that one of the Hummel children had died. While I was there, the doctor told me that I'd get it if I didn't take some medicine. Hannah told us that Amy should leave since she never had it and that Jo should stay with me for the next few days. Amy wasn't very happy to leave, but she eventually did. Oh, I do hope I'll get well soon!

Goodbye, Mother!

Marmee left today. :-( And then Meg and Jo had to go to the King's and Aunt March! :-( We wrote letters to her, since we miss her already. My letter was short, since there wasn't much room. I put in  some pressed flowers and told her that I've been doing what she asked of me. Oh, Mother, if you're reading this, please kiss father on the cheek the moment he gets well.

Oh, the dreaded letter!

In november, when nothing good ever happens, we got a letter. We had been worried since we hadn't gotten a letter from father. We thought that it was just a mix-up at the post office. Father always writes his letters. But then the telegram came. It read:

Mrs. March
You're husband is very ill. Come at once.
                                                                          S. Hale
                                                   Blank Hospital, Washington

Oh Father! That's why he didn't write his usual letter! Oh dear, oh dear! We cried for a few minutes. Hannah was able to get us to snap out of it. We settled down and we had Laurie send a telegram saying that she'd come. We also had a note left at Aunt March's.
Mr. Brook came by to ask Mother if he could escort her, and Meg accepted for her. Then Jo came back with twenty-five dollars! She had her hair cut and sold! Mother said it wasn't needed, but thanked her anyway.
Oh, I hope father will be alright!

Our June Experiment (Tragedy!)

Hooray! Aunt March and the King family left for vacation! That means that Jo and Meg will be free for a while. They decided to do nothing during their freedom, and Amy and I, agreeing with decided the same thing. We just did want we wanted for a whole week, ignoring our chores and everything!
Well,  on Saturday, we woke to Mother very tired in bed. There was no breakfast waiting or fire in the fireplace! Even Hannah wasn't home! We decided to do our chores and we fixed breakfast to bring up to mother. Later, when I went to check on my bird, Pip, I found that he was dead! He starved to death, with his claws reaching out for food! Oh, Pip!
We had a funeral after a terrible dinner! It was so sad. Later, I wanted to just lock myself in my room, but the beds weren't made. So instead, beat pillows and cleaned.
It turns out that mother was teaching us a lesson! That we have to do our chores to keep everything in order. Well, alright Marmee! We'll do our chores and never have another experiment like this again!

My Unforgettable Thank You

I played it a little, then Jo suggested that I go and thank him. And did I! I marched straight over. I went into his office without even a hint of fear. I tried to thank him, but I froze. I gave him a little kiss and he softened up a lot. We talked for a while then he walked me to the gate and shook my hand. How wonderful is he!! :)

Our Little Gifts

I decided to make some slippers for Mr. Laurence. He has been so kind, letting me play at his house and all. Once they were done, Laurie helped me get them to him before he would see us. I attached a note. I didn't expect anything but a thank you in return. That was all I needed, but I got something more. A letter adressed to me...and you'll never guess...a cabinet piano!!!!!!!! According to the letter, it belonged to his little granddaughter. He gave it to me! My very own piano! I still can't believe it!

Piano at the Mansion part 2

Well, I went to that "mansion of bliss," as meg calls it today. The music was easy and once I started playing I wasn't scared. I think someone may have heard, but then again, no one was around. There's always new music and books waiting. I wonder who's been putting them there. I'd ask Laurie or Mr. Laurence, but I'd rather not. What would I say to whomever's responsible for all of the great music I can play now? They might ask for me to play for them! Oh, I mustn't ask at all!

Piano at the Mansion

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Anyway, here I go.
I love music, especially piano. When I saw the grand piano in the mansion next door, I fell in love! Mr. Laurence used to scare me a bit, since he seemed a little gruff. That was, of course, until he invited me to come over and play piano. What's best is that no one will listen in at all. And I won't disturb a soul. This will be great!

Jo and Meg

Today, Jo and Meg got to go to a New Year's party. They both decided to go. Jo burned Meg's hair, Meg's shoes were tight, and the clothes were all a mess. In the end, they had a good time, besides Meg's sprained ankle. Jo met the Laurence boy, who goes by Laurie. I think that it was fun, but that's just me. I wasn't there.

The Play

Later in the evening, we were ready for our play. Jo took on all the male roles, since there are no males in our plays. It was the Operatic Tragedy. After the play, we went downstairs and we found two whole dishes of ice cream! And cake and french bonbons and four bouquets of flowers. Mr. Laurence, the Laurence boy's grandfather, had sent them! For us! Apparently, Hannah, out servant, told one of his servants about us helping that family, so he sent word to Marmee, requesting that he give this to us!  So Merry Christmas all, and Mr. Laurence as well! :-)

Christmas!!!!

Merry Christmas! This morning, we all woke to find little book under our pillows (hey, the tooth fairy?) Meg told us to read them a little each morning. We read a little, then we found out that Mother went to help a poor family that came begging at our door. So that's where I get it from!
Anyway, she came home a little while later, and after Amy took the cologne she bought out of the basket to replace the bottle, we left out to give our breakfast to the poor family. It felt so good! We all carried the food over, and were they grateful! They called us angels and we sat around the fire and fed them and talked. We left out in high spirits and when we got home, we gave Marmee the presents. She put my handkerchief in her pocket, wore Jo's slippers, was scented with Amy's cologne, and wore Meg's gloves. It was so wonderful, seeing her wearing our gifts like that!

Christmas is still christmas

It's almost Chirstmas! I'm not expecting much this year. It won't be the same since Father's not home, but I've got Jo, Meg, Amy, and Mother. They're all I need. Well, I suppose I do need my music. That's all I want for Christmas, to play some music all day. Jo decided that we should buy what we want since we work so hard. I mean, the chores, the chores! We all complained about work, then after Meg and I were peacemakers between Jo and Amy, we decided buy things for Mother, instead of outselves. I'll get her handkerchiefs, and it'll be a great Christmas!
